That is pretty interesting to know. I maintain a bulk of our listings over at 4walls.us and am always intrigued by what property managers advise me to add, what details they find most important, etc. Internet availability is a big one, but I think that some just assume that Internet access is always a given option.

Thanks for dropping by, Mark. What do you mean by #2 ... do you think Internet access is still not available at most apartment communities, or it's just not an amenity that's included in the rent?

As a renter, it doesn't bother me if I have to pay for cable and Internet access, but it's probably a deal-killer if I'm stuck with a service that's not competitive or doesn't meet my needs.

I would agree with you that it is interesting Internet didn't make the list. There are a few reasons in my mind for this. 1. People just expect to pay for it themselves just like cable or other utilities. 2. Most companies or properties don't offer it as an amenity. 3. You could argue that it fits in the "some paid utilities" category.

I'd be curious to see where it did fall in the survey, and/or if Wi-Fi/Free Internet was a choice on the survey as well. It may have not been on there specifically.
